parachute flare

parachute flare
A high-luminosity pyrotechnic flare attached to a parachute and released from an aircraft to illuminate a region. It assists with attacks, landings, observations, etc. It descends slowly and its illumination period depends on the height of the release of the flare, the size of the parachute, and the prevalent winds.
